Winter Projects coming along . . .

Well from the last update the Trim and White Panels have been located!!!

The beams in the Salon area, have allready been Sanded and pretty close to being stained Cherry. (You wouldn't believe that almost everything was painted white - unfortunate since the wood underneath is beautiful! The Trim is also ready to be stained as well.

Another project was to replace the flooring in the Galley and Stateroom. This has been done, except the Hatches need to be replaced and now awaiting for the T-Bar to come in - sooo close, but not quite there yet.

Lastly the Refridgerator has been moved, so that the Stove/Oven can be purchased and installed.

Well that's the most recent update - Keep coming back for future updates

Taking time :(

Well I found the White Paneling for the ceiling, but having difficulties with the Trim. A couple of trims that I looked at doesn't seem to work. So the hunt continues. Hoping that this project to be completed before Christmas! Ugh:(

Weekend . . . Time to get back to work again

Well it's not quite the weekend yet, but Friday Night. Sitting back enjoying a nice fire in the fireplace and making a quick dinner. Tomorrow, will start working again. The ceiling is taking long than expected but I do want it done "right" - so, it will take as long as it will take.

Maybe 1/4th There . . .

Well it's Sunday night and after working on the Marpro since last week the following has been completed: All ceiling titles removed - Sanded Once all the wood beams down to raw wood, well ok actualy today I re-sanded down to raw wood.

There are the side moldings that still have to be removed on both dock and water side.

Once that is done and sanded down - then comes the staining process of the Wood. Just opened a test can of Cherry. I'm really liking this, waiting to see how it actually dries.

Here's really the next step before staining - is having Harold, hopefully - work on the wiring in the ceiling, ensure that all is there where it needs to be and add any thing else we might need.

Keep coming back for updates as they will be posted. . . .

Ceiling Coming Along

Well the Ceiling is coming along, as with most projects they always take longer than expected. Working on this Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. All the old ceiling tiles have been removed back on Saturday, but the last three days were just sanding the old paint (probably lead paint) that doesn't want to sand off easily. The sanding part is about 1/2 done. The checking the Electrical that runs just above the New ceiling panels and then finally staining the new Crown Molding and the wood ribs that I'm sanding right now.

As with most, I also purchased the material for replacing all the hatches - heck of a time find it - Thank you Taco Steel, which it wasn't $65.00 + per 12 feet - I'm needing 48 feet in total, but that's for another project this Winter.

So there's the update as of yesterday. Keep coming back to see all of the restorations taking place this Winter!

Demo(ing) the Ceiling Tiles in the Salon

Well it's easy to get side tracked on projects and that's exactly what happened today:)

All of the Ceiling Tiles are now gone! Next should be checking the Electrical Wire that runs from front to back! This is not my strong suit. Then either restore the molding or replace it. Did not find the exact match, so I might have to remove the old paint then repair it, after installing the new ceiling panels. It's going to have instead of ceiling tiles (old look) to bright and clean ceiling panels!!!

That's about all that happened this Saturday. Tomorrow's a new day - Keep coming back to watch the transformation of Ms. Marpro this Winter:)

Little by Little . . .

Well I haven't posted for a while, but there's been a good of bit done! Deck and Roof has been completed!!!! It's about time. Just in time from the last storm, Winterizing was the call in order.
A little leak in the Galley, but just two weekends ago part of the Galley was painted, that appears to have fixed this problem - We'll see:). It's time for the Winter project to start.

This list is getting bigger and bigger, but it's still attention and getting it done, well will be quite exciting - The fun part of restoration is the inside. List goes like this:

Finish painting the Galley.
New Paint the sleeping quarters
New Paint in the Head
Replacing the Ceiling Tiles to a new style in the Salon.
Moving the Refrig to it's proper place in the Galley
A NEW Stove and Oven - (this is going to break the bank:) )
Inside woodwork
Re-wire all electrical and add more outlets! (It's easier to start anew than follow old wires).

Ok, if that's not enough . . . Well that's crazy:)

It's going, going and and going

Well it's taking a little longer than expected, but as of this weekend the Deck is 85% done (found that the ribs needed some attention - Sistering they call it) so that too is being worked on while the deck is being done. The roof is 99% done - masking tape off today! Then awaiting for the Brass Railings to return so that I can put them back on.

There's alot of Brass that was just painted white (for an example, the railings, Red and Green Lights and the Port Holes - why they did this is beyond me), by the previous owners, now we're trying to have the Brass come back to it's orginial state.

One Day at a Time . . .

The work to be completed is coming soon. The roof is getting closer and closer to being done. With continued great weather and a few more days off during the week or at least a few afternoons/evening after work this part maybe completed as soon as next week.

The deck in the back is to be worked on this coming Saturday and may take only a day to complete. If so, new pic's will be added.

Once the roof is done - then the bow (roofs over the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom) will commence.

Just recently found a person to redo some of the side parts of the Marpro - hoping this project will start shortly and take a few weeks - keep your finger's crossed.

Goal: To get these projects done before the end of Summer - The race is on, first day of Summer, started yesterday.

One year has past - Mom where are you???

I noticed that I have been left along for one year - I can't stand it!

Luckly Mom came back today. "I'm still a great boat!" I yelled . . .

I think I caught her attention. She spent the day and night (Saturday) and acutally worked on me on Sunday! Yea!!!!

I gave her my punch list:
1) Redo the Roof - (she's working on it!)
2) New back Deck - (she's got someone in mind - thank you!)
3) Redo the frontage (the roof over the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom) - maybe in July/August.
